The Yale researchers found essentially no contamination in well water, and the amounts they did detect were hundreds or thousands of times smaller than can be detected by commercial labs.

The American economic system has made the United States the world leader in abundant and low-cost energy, thanks in no small part to contributions from Texas. But new rules from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pose a direct threat to our oil and natural gas revolution. Even worse, they are largely a Washington-designed solution still searching for a problem.
ShareAfter years of languishing in a shale-induced coma, the U.S. natural gas market is waking up. Exports will help prices rebound from the slump caused by the U.S. pumping record amounts from shale formations. Growing domestic winter demand is already causing spikes and trading volumes in futures markets have rebounded to the highest level in three years. Average retail gas prices also will rise with LNG exports, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
ShareThis week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rolled out its new regulations on methane emissions from oil and gas development. These rules come even as the industry has slashed emissions in recent years, all while natural gas production has skyrocketed. As the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) pointed out, these costly proposals "could inflict more pain on the men and women who work in the oil and gas industry – at a time when market forces are already creating economic challenges."
ShareNow that the U. S. is generating more electricity from natural gas than any other source, the nation’s electrical grid is an increasingly reliable electrical system that ensures the lights turn on when we flip the switch. And it's natural gas that is now driving the trend toward greater fuel diversity.
